“Kuch Karke Dekho, Achcha Lagta Hai” – ‘Do something and see, you will feel good’ – is a group of young philanthropists, who regularly comes to Jeevantirth and contributes; always in kind, in one or the other way in our Urban Initiative Programs. RajBhai and Pinki Shah are leading the initiative and they become the bridge in bringing kind-hearted people to share their wealth and joy with our children and women.
JeniBen, Mother of Manthan; expressed her desire to showing new Gujarati film to our 230 Women Members of SHGs and Jeevantirth staff, “Aunty- Preneur” – Aunty + Entrepreneur.
The story runs like this: ‘Dharti No Chhedo Ghar’ (At the end of the world, it is home). A cooperative housing society in Mumbai is about to be demolished if the pending dues are not paid in three months. Jasuben Gangani (Supriya Pathak Kapur) plans to turn into an Auntypreneur. Seeking guidance from her son-like tenant, Raju (Parikshit Tamaliya), she builds a team with other ladies.
They enter the share market and using their intelligence and gut feeling, they gamble. They do lose at times, they win too, but at what cost? The ensuing drama, filled with rib-tickling comedy, makes for an interesting and empowering tale.
We all enjoyed the film on 19th May at Shiv Cinema – with Popcorns and Cold Drinks offered to us – very much; but real fun and drama happened once film was over and we were just going out. Somebody asked us to be there for just five minutes.
And… to our surprise, Young Talented Actor of the film – Parikshit Tamaliya, appeared live before our eyes!
He said; “Silently, hiding myself, I was watching your expressions. I am immensely happy that you all enjoyed the film and you were responding ups and down of the story with utmost genuineness.”
His friendly gesture and asking free and frank feedback from the slum women touched hearts of all.We thank him and express all the best in his carrier. We also express our gratitude to our Friends of Jeevantirth who facilitated and sponsored this wonderful event.
