Celebration of “Gandhi Nirvan Divas” – January 30, 2013

After lightening the lamp, little girls of the Wamiki Samaj (considered as most backwards amongst Dalits) charged the atmosphere by presenting beautiful dance on the tunes of “Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawano Kaa”. It was followed by another famous patriotic filmy song “Maa Tuze Salaam” by Jeevantirth volunteers of RamaPirNo Tekro.

Jwalant Bhavsar, Clinical Psychologist and Motivational Trainer inaugurated the “Youth Contact Campaign”. He challenged the youths to be change agents in the society. Raju Deepti of Jeevantirth explained the youth that during the Road Map exercise of Jeevantirth it was decided to form a federation of 1,000 youths of under-privileged section of society with a motto “Youths for Social Change”.

Raju Deepti of Jeevantirth also invited captains of cricket teams on the dies and asked to facilitate the audience by clapping hands. Ms. Manda Patel, senior activist who was in Jail for one year during emergency and married during parole period with another senior activist Hasmukh Patel – who was also in jail during that time) launched “Girl Child Education” project of Jeevantirth in which 1,000 girls from RamaPirNo TEkro and nearby slums will be covered. In her brief speech she quoted famous Gujarati saying, ‘Bhaneli Dikri Be Ghar Ne Ajwade” – learned daughter lights two families – and appeal the youths to extend all possible help in the mission. Girl Child Project is supported by Shri Chetankumar Shah in the loving memory of Bhupendra Chabildas Shah.

Youths of Jeevantirth – Unnati “Vocational Training Centre” presented light comedy drama about how to face an interview. Drama stressed on the importance on Good Mannerism, Work Ethics, Stability in Job and Goal in life. Youths going to Jim demonstrated dexterity, suppleness and balancing of their body.

 

When there are youths, there is always dance, joy and some future planning. It was decided to hold one meeting in near future about youth contact campaign and organizing “Cricket Tournament”. Food was served in the end. About 250 youths filled the forms showing their willingness to join forum of youth for social change.
