Urban Initiative of Jeevantirth was initiated 11 years ago on Gandhi Jayanti day with the aim of serving the people who keep city life throbbing. We are working in one of the biggest slum of Gujarat – RamapirNo Tekro and nearby slums since 2008. On this Gandhi Jayanti day, we remembered father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhiji; and Lal Bahadur Shastri, one of the best prime minister India has ever had and celebrated their birthday by inaugurating ‘Saaheli Kendra’ for the rag-pickers women.

In a small gathering Veenaben Patel, Shobhnaben Shah and Brindaben Vaishnav congratulated the SHG members of rag-pickers women and expressed their solidarity and best wishes to make best use of the centre.
