Jeevantirth celebrated “World Environment Day – 2019” in partnership with The Serenity Library, Anusandhan and Education Department GoG at The Serenity Library and Botanical Garden with curtain raising event of the ‘Nature Education Program 2019-20’. New academic year is just to begin and we are equipping ourselves with few new initiatives also.

The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Sahu, The Director of Kankaria – Zoo and Master Stage Performer was Maitreybhai of Dhingli Ghar. Children arrived the venue at 9 A.M. and enjoyed Nature Trail, Bird Watching, Identification of Trees and learned about life cycle of Butterfly. They also performed Nature Craft activities. After welcome tea and visiting exhibition on importance of tree in our life, working models of rain water harvesting and brief displays of the activities carried out at The Serenity all assembled in the AV Hall.

Bhavisha Diwakar welcomed all and then duo of Maitreybhai and Dr. Shahu started their question answer session in entertaining way. It was an extraordinary synergy of knowledge of Dr. Sahu about animal life and master performer Maitreybhai. Children learnt a lot and enjoyed the session. Raju Deepti of Jeevantirth informed the gathering about the incoming programs at The Serenity. This year in addition to the nature education program we are going to organise night camps, vacation camps, teachers’ training program and on a pilot bases Nature Club in selected Government schools. Highly energetic and cooperative Taluka Primary Education Officer Pinkeshbhai was also present in the vent to motivate schools to join the program. Mayur Mistry also entertained the children by trying to prove that we all are non-living! Harsha Chauhan thanked all for being there and after delicious lunch all departed with sweet memories of the event and resolves to live eco-friendly life.
