Three Day Workshop on Importance of Songs, Stories, Games and Craft in Education

It was all fun learning and brought childhood back in BalMitras, when Madinaben and Jaivantiben – both working with children for last 35 years – sang, danced and engaged all in various art & craft activities during three day workshop from 16th May to 18th May 2019 of BalMitras working in Becharaji region as a part of “Quality Education for All” in 24 schools supported by Suzuki Motor. The workshop started with enlightening talk by Devbala Joshi – CDPO for 30 years – on the importance of “Early Child Education”. She explained in detail about 17 Themes of ECE and participants discussed about them in small groups. She also showed small film on child development in early childhood. It was decided that during first 45 days of schools these 17 themes will be covered in first standard.

Raju, Deepti and Harsha took various sessions on Songs, Stories, Games and Craft activities. All the participants enjoyed and learnt well. All the participants practiced storytelling, they prepared charts and presented them in plenary sessions, made crown, mask, ball catcher, origami models and other items. Now they have treasure of songs, games, stories and craft activities to engage and entertain students throughout the year. We are sure that it will help in bringing latent potential in the students and their learning skill will enhanced.
