Children’s Day Celebration, 14th November 2016.
Children’s Day has a significant meaning for India. It reminds us, through children, of our first Prime Minister and of India’s independence. No child would forget Chacha Nehru’s birthday, 14th Novemeber, as it denotes Children’s day, a day on which children look forward to attending schools! Schools become devoid of their strictness on this day and children take on the roles of principals and teachers. Cultural programs are held in most schools wherein even the teachers may perform for their students.
This Children’s Day, on 14th November, 2016, we had an opportunity to take 250 of our Bal Sanskar Kendra’s children to City Gold, a cinema house, with the help of Payalben Agrawal, the owner of City Gold. More than 95% of these kids had not been to a cinema house until now. The show was Rock On 2; the excitement and fascination of these children was a show in itself. The big screen, pushback chairs, surround sound, the air conditioning, it was an indelible experience for these kids. They also enjoyed popcorns and cold drinks during interval.
A child looks at this world with fresh eyes, without filtering it as per previous experiences. It was a memorable experience not only for the children, but also for Jeevantirth staff members.
